A Decent Suspense crime thriller with some flaws followed by good performances by lead actors. Haiwaan(2026) arounds a blind man, Shyam who protecting a around 10 years old girl in whole movie from a man, parshuram who becomes a pyscho after a injusticefull past. The director of movie is priyadarshan who work have 100% success movies ratio with actor akshay kumar. This is the first movie of akshay kumar where he is doing a out n out serious role in a priyadarshan movie before this they both are worked in lot of comedy movies movie. Movie have cast like Akshay Kumar, saif ali khan in lead roles and saiyami kher, shriya Pilgaonkar, boman Irani, late asrani ji, Rajpal Yadav and more in supporting role. There are some stretchy scenes in whole movie which going to down the screenplay many times. Movie have some very good cool chilling pyscho moments by akshay kumar who play a type of a haiwaan. Movie is a remake of a actor Mohanlal starer Malayalam movie Oppam(2016) and yes movie is frame to frame remake of that movie. There are lots of pre release spectulations that haiwaan is going to be a rough adaptation of oppam movie with major changes but every spectulations are proved to be bullshit after release. although movie have add some extended scenes from original screenplay which feels us the scenes boring and slow. Movie have three songs in movie’s first half which also not much good and feels unneccerely in movie screenplay. Movie has good plot of a rat and cat race between a blind man and a psycho killer, but predicatable twists and turns and climax. A movie like haiwaan which have a category like suspense crime thriller it had a great scope to prove a fast paced thriller with shocking moments movie but sadly its not up to the mark. Movie takes a lot of time to build up in first half and second half is much better than first half but there are also some stretch scenes. Movie’s music not shines up to the mark but BGM are tooo strong of movie. Movie’s BGM chills out us in whole movie and gave us feeling of darkness of movie.
1. Plot summary
- The Protagonist: Shyam (Saif Ali Khan) is a blind maintenance manager and informal caretaker in a luxury Mumbai high-rise who has heightened senses of hearing, smell, and touch.
- The Judge’s Secret: Retired Justice Pradhan (Boman Irani) lives in the building and shares a deep bond with Shyam. Pradhan confesses a haunting secret about an old case involving Parshuram (Akshay Kumar).
- The Antagonist: Parshuram was previously sentenced to prison by Pradhan and always claimed he was innocent. Parshuram turns into a sadistic killer hunting down everyone connected to his sentencing—including the judge and his family.
- The Conflict: After Parshuram murders the judge, Shyam becomes the prime suspect and is forced into a deadly cat-and-mouse game. Shyam must use his exceptional sensory skills to protect the judge’s young daughter and survive the killer’s vengeance.
2. Analysis and evaluation
If i talking about performance of lead roles of haiwaan when i would to say akshay kumar shines excellent in dark psycho role as “haiwaan” but scope of their role in movie is very limited and also lack of depthness of his character. Akshay kumar screentime is very limited in movie. In other words we would say he is an a extended cameo role in movie. I am not wrong if i say haiwaan is a definitely a saif ali khan. He is full fledged role in whole movie. Haiwaan is a saif ali khan centric movie. He is top notched as a blind man role in movie. His performance was too good in haiwaan. Bomani irani are good and other cast have limited scope in movie. Movie’s direction have not so much scope because movie was scene to scene remake of a same director movie. Director priyadarshan have a good vision in serious genres like dark suspense thriller. Movie’s cinematography is too good, screenplay is average, music are below average. Movie’s colour grading on point in whole which provide us perfect experience of a suspense thriller movie. Actors performance is big plus point for movie positives specially akshay kumar nd saif ali khan. A below average screenplay and lots of unneccesary scenes are one of the biggest negetives for the movie.There is a additional scene in movie where akshay kumar nd saif both are talking with each others from minimal distance in building parking basement, this scene was fantastic.

Overall haiwaan is a good one time watch movie with many flaws and some good performances. If u haven’t watched original movie then haiwaan can work for neautral audience but not suspense thriller lovers. Both main leads actors akshay and saif as a actors they both are give a strong performance in movie. So my final recommendation is that if you are thinking to watch a good time pass suspense thriller movie so u can try this one. And yes haiwaan is a “Saif” movie. Lastly in my conclusion i would to say Haiwaan is a good one time watchable movie.
